Just between us, I’m not a well man. My severe hypertension means I’m always just one episode of extreme annoyance away from a stroke. So I try not to get annoyed. Last year I went off my BP meds, because I missed having boners. And to my wondrous surprise, I found that I can totally control my BP without the meds...as long as I don’t allow myself to get angry.
But you people...
If I DON’T post anything on Substack, I gain five followers a day. But the minute I DO post, I lose twenty at once.
So why would I ever post? Where’s the benefit to me?
It makes no nevermind in terms of money...this Substack is free, so if I have ten or ten-thousand subs, what’sit matter? But it annoys me. Because I know my fans. Half of them have fantasy visions of me (“David Cole’s the BASED JEW who DEBUNKED THE HOLOHOAX, and him an’ I’s gonna be BESTEST FRIENDS!”) and when their rape fantasy is interrupted, they leave in a huff.
It’s irritating, because these are the assholes who’ll define me when I’m dead (seein’ how I’m never gettin’ another publisher and I’m banned from Amazon).
So remind me again why I should post here. By my calculations, if I don’t post, I’ll have quadruple the number of subs by Christmas. And if I DO post, I’ll remain stagnant and have a fucking stroke.
You people...
Plus, last month’s “auction” video laid such a befouled egg, I got salmonella. No good bids. Turns out, YouTube banning me - me going from 6,700 YT subs to 1,390 Substack subs - DID make a difference. My ability to pick up a few extra bucks is dead. Proof of the power of sites like YT to cripple someone’s income. Thankfully, my income is Takimag; the auctions were just for a little extra dough to fix a few things around the house.
Remember: I’m a banned author with zero social media reach. Without Takimag, I’m 100% unemployable, so I keep a “rainy day” fund. Feel free to take pity on me via Buy Me a Beer. Yes, I will accept your pity, with pleasure (if you prefer PayPal, I’m “David Cole” and my email is countercontempt@gmail.com).
Your every dollar puts me one more day away from stroking out on my kitchen floor, in front of the broken sink that mocks me.
Speaking of which, I’m going to start mocking the unsubs. After the last post, I tracked one unsub, “J. Ali,” to a company called PulseTV where he works. So in honor of his assist in my incipient death, here’s me returning the favor via a commercial I made for his “as seen on TV” scam company, using actual photos from the website.
You’re welcome, J. Ali.
One of you lucky unsubs will get similar treatment next post!
Okay, to other matters.
I don’t know “James Kirkpatrick.” I know he writes for VDARE and there’s some godawfully dense backstory with him and pseudonyms and a bitter ex-girlfriend who outed him, but I don’t need to see that movie, I lived it (Dottie).
What I do know is that I care about VDARE and I worry about the site’s recent flirtations with nuttiness, like Trump’s “Moloch stole the election” ramblings and, fer fuck’s sake, Holocaust denial (hit the music cue: “Hello darkness my old friend…”).
This week, Kirkpatrick retweeted a virulent Holocaust denial account and added his own commentary:
Immediately, he got pushback regarding his methodology.
And then I figger’d I’d email him my own damn self, perhaps to edify the guy and maybe help stop VDARE’s slide into wackiness. So I sent him this:
Hi James!
Someone sent me your tweet from yesterday regarding Churchill, Eisenhower, de Gaulle, their memoirs, and the rise of “Holocaust” as a topic from the 1970s onward.
Perhaps I can assist in making the matter less mystifying.
Regarding the memoirs, the mass-murder of European Jews, known as the Final Solution in those days (hence why searching the indices of 1950s and ‘60s books doesn’t turn up entries for “Holocaust”) was an Eastern Theater affair. It happened in the East, to the extent that even German and Austrian Jews who were murdered were killed in Belarus. It wasn’t something the Western Allies dealt with. There’d be no reason a Western military leader recalling his own wartime experiences would include a chapter on the Holocaust. De Gaulle in particular, as most French Jews survived, so the Holocaust wasn’t a thing that touched his life or wartime experiences.
Churchill and Eisenhower do mention the concentration camps (in the immediate postwar months Eisenhower made a huge deal about the liberated camps in newsreels), but again, what the Brits and Americans stumbled upon at war’s end would not factor into a detailed memoir about how Western leaders conducted their military campaigns during the war.
The Holocaust occurred predominantly in the eastern part of Poland, in Belarus, and in Russia. In relation to what occupied de Gaulle’s mind at the time, it might as well have been Mars.
Regarding the rise in interest in the Holocaust from 1970 onward, I’m curious how familiar you are with the history of those Confederate statues/monuments that were torn down/removed during BLM mania. Do you know that the vast majority of them were built between 1900 and 1920?
See, this is a normal dynamic. After a catastrophic loss, it often takes a few decades for a people to begin seeking a kind of nostalgia, pride, even political advantage, in what had decades earlier been a severely traumatic event that, at the time, seemed like something to move on from, to bury in memory. This is especially true when the formerly-traumatized people now find themselves secure and prosperous, as white Southerners did in 1900 (Reconstruction long over, darkies kept down by law, jaunty straw hats and banjos everywhere) and as Jews did in the 1970s (American Jews enjoying unprecedented prosperity and influence).
These kinds of things (an explosion of commemoration decades after the fact) are not inexplicable but expected. But please note that the two foundational Holocaust history books, Reitlinger's Final Solution and Hilberg's Destruction of the European Jews, were published in 1953 and 1961 respectively. The "commemoration" craze started in the '70s, but the histories came soon after the war.
Also, I’ll add that if, today, the Holocaust is remembered more than the “shooting wars” of WWII, it’s because “shooting wars” are still so commonplace. Most Gen Xers, Millennials, and Zoomers find them dull. Oh yawn, another shooting war. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
The Holocaust contained unique factors that media consumers find more engaging.
Some of my colleagues, for example, claim that U.S. mass-shootings are a “false flag” plot by leftists or one-worlders or Illuminatis or Obammer to “grab yer guns.” My take is different; I believe that frequent mass-shootings desensitize the public, making it harder for “gun grabbers” to exploit such events for political gain. But should some would-be Walmart shooter ditch the AK and concoct something never-before-seen, like, say, piping poison gas into a movie theater showing the Barbie film, that would be headlines for months!
In 30 years, that would be remembered more than the Vegas guy who shot 60 concertgoers (think quick; can you even recall his name?). History rewards the bold and creative, even if the reward is infamy. The Nazis are reaping a reward they justly earned at Treblinka.
I hope this email has in some small way helped you gain a better understanding of the issues you seemed baffled by in your tweet.
David
Did he respond?
Take a guess.
But hey - maybe some of you have the witty rejoinders Kirkpatrick apparently lacks. Let me know in the comments!
I’ll add a point I didn’t include in my email.
Poor intellects not only fall for their own spin, they don’t possess the creative intelligence to understand how “the other side” can spin the same thing, but in a different direction. Kirkpatrick and the deniers who exploit the “Churchill, de Gaulle, and Eisenhower” qwestchin fail to comprehend that while they spin the lack of Holocaust memoir mentions to mean “the Holocaust never happened,” Jews spin it differently. They spin it to mean “we were never that important to those wartime leaders; our losses were seen by them as a footnote. More reason why we have to fight for ourselves and amplify our own problems, because the rest of the world won’t.”
That’s a better spin. By that, I don’t necessarily mean “more correct,” just smarter. That spin not only increased Holocaust awareness, but brought cohesion to a demographic that by the 1970s was rapidly losing a shared religious identity (with Western Jews embracing secularism, and Israeli Jews embracing nationalism).
The Jewish spin strengthened Jews.
The “white” spin, “de Gaulle didn’t say da word Hollycost so dat dun means it never happened,” is dysgenic. It dumbs-down whites, makes them look like idiots, and leads them astray from issues that matter.
The denier spin weakens whites.
Outclassed again, Cletus.
By the way, Buford, do you know that the memoirs of Presidents Bush and Obama don’t mention black-on-white rapes and murders? Not one single word, even though such crimes exploded under their presidencies.
Now imagine you’re a kid 40 years hence learning about the 2000s from the Bush and Obama memoirs. And you say, “hey, these two presidents - one GOP, one Dem - don’t say a word about any ‘plague’ of black-on-white rapes and murders. That means no such crimes occurred, otherwise surely these presidents would’ve mentioned it!”
Mistaking “lack of mention,” which can occur for a variety of political and personal reasons, for nonexistence, is tarded. And if you do that, you’re a tard.
Don’t be a tard.
Okay, that’s it fer now. BUY ME A BEER, and…
Ask me some movie questions in the comments! I wanna do one more October video, but only if you guys pitch me some good discussion topics for movies. NO POLITICS ON HALLOWEEN! Just movies. If you send enough good Qs my way, I’ll do a video in a week. If you sent a movie question I failed to get to previously, please re-send it, because I’m too damn tired to go looking through older posts.
See ya!
Dave, I love you. We need you. And you need us. What do you live for, but to serve as a Light unto us Gentiles? You have what the Germans call Mitteilingsbedürfnis, the need to talk, to explain. Need for an audience. For God's sake don't blow it with Takimag. And, BTW, I hope that Taki has a succession plan. He's in great shape for a hard partier of 87, but....
Anyhow, take care. And don't worry about pissing me off. If you ain't pissing somebody off, you ain't doing your job.
Hi Dave,
Sorry about your troubles. I sent three beers your way. I'm a first time donor and glad to help!
I hope you enjoy Lucky Lager (piss in 2-litre bottles drunk by Injuns up here in Canada)!
Anyway, I think Mr. Kirkpatrick is generally a reasonable fellow who also writes at AmRen. I enjoy his work there.
That said, this foray into Holocaust 'qwestchining' is highly unnecessary and unwelcome. It seems that so many people on the far-right feel that 'racism' is the most extreme thing one can be, so they dart off into all sorts of insane and inane conspiracy theories that can help them avoid the awful taint of the 'hard R-word.'
We saw this with COVID. "Oh, this is not the fault of the Chinese people at all. They would never have unsanitary dietary practices! It must have been caused by Fauci working with the CCP to bring the world to its knees via a REALLY bad cold!"
See? Racism is avoided, and batshit insanity is given a Donatella Versace-sized kiss on the lips.
If Mr. Kirkpatrick is just making some reason to not support Israel, he should be direct.
"I don't care how many times you say 'never again.' We don't owe Israel, Palestine or any players involved in the Forever Wars our help. Sort your own shit out and keep your refugees in the unfortunately way too Fertile Crescent!"
It's that easy.
Rant over!
