I managed to read that prior to it getting wiped from Taki and thought it was excellent. In a related story, I recently defended your honor on a social media site when someone called you "controlled opposition" and a few other things. Nonsense. I've often found people throw that label at anyone who doesn't hold the same extreme, and generally insane, viewpoints as they do - it frequently says more about the person slinging the insult than it does about the target.

That is quite correct, and I thank you, sincerely, for your defense.

Good writing Dave! I must say one thing I have noticed in people that there ideology becomes there politics and the politics becomes there faith! Some that I was thinking about is your old thorn Irving Rubin: Me theory is that Irving would be part of woke society. Obviously he always wanted to be a victim of hate. In my opinion he never was one. But into day age people think it is cool to be a victim of injustice or racist ect.Irving probably was piss off that he was born in Canada in 1945 and not Poland! He probably had wet dreams about being in Auschwitz’s and SS she wolf Elsa was beating his Ass with a leather whip made by Hitler him self!what am getting is look at his work his group, they our gone and all most forgotten. With being said he has no legacy at all. The only this one can say about him is that he was the pioneer in that is cool to be a victim. He probably was a libtard underneath!

I started noticing crazy right gaining speed in 2009. Before that lefties had a near monopoly on nutty with the Code Pink and Move On types. The best example of rightward degeneration I can think of was one of my neighbors- a pleated khakis and polo shirt doctor who overnight grew a prospector beard and started dressing like Lil’ Abner and hinting darkly about Obama being illegit because Kenya or secret Muslim practices or whatever else was in the ether that week. These people gave Obama his second term. Anyone wanting to get through a Republican primary in my area (central NC) was obliged to wax eloquent about Darwin, Sharia Law, and Glenn Beck’s whiteboard. That only helped the left.

Lefties thrive off the unreal and the irrelevant; successful right wingers know to stay in the real world - depressing as it is.

Yeah I had practically forgotten about the birther thing. Now from the left it’s just RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA!! And classified documents! Even though both are a pig in a poke. On the right seems like there are still Qtards trusting the plan and think Biden is a fake stand in. Seems worse online than in real life.

I actually read this article on taki, must've slipped through or perhaps it was right before the hack. Speaking of the hack, it wasn't all bad, I learned all about microsoft's windows operating system during those 6 days. Unfortunately none of the articles explained how to undo the windows 11 update foisted on my windows 10 laptop that I never asked for, maybe next time taki's gets hacked they'll put some articles up about that.

I just wanted to say in response to this article and the other one that mentioned andrew anglin that he isn't a neo nazi, he's a conservative troll propagandist that uses edgy humor and hops from one fad to another. When he's not doing that shtick he's pretty insightful and sane despite appearances, he's more of a typical conservative type than he appears on the surface with all the baggage that brings with it. In practice he's much closer to the other people you talked about in this article than the genuine 1488 crowd, though admittedly there's some overlap in their defeatist beliefs.

Also wanted to say about paul pelosi, he must use a lot of rogaine for his hair to grow back so fast or maybe they didn't need to shave his head to fix his fractured skull. Hey I'm just making observations, it's not like I was being inquisitive and asking questions, BIG difference, you understand the nuance, there's some real big brained shit going on here I assure you.

Autistic pedantry and trolling aside I do appreciate that you point out the insane conspiracy oriented direction the right has been going in even though I'm positive there's no stopping that train. It's so widespread it's mind numbing, reading your articles about it is a much needed respite from it, thanks for that.

I could use some more videos though *wink wink* and you should try the glenlivet 14 year, it's aged in sherry, bourbon and cognac casks, it's absolutely delicious but a little pricey. This summer I'm gonna do my regular donation and a chunk of extra change to even out the cost compared to the rum cask bottle so you can try it guilt free. I think you'll like it, it's soo good. I didn't even know they made a rum cask version until you showed it in your video, they don't sell it where I live but I can order it online, I definitely wanna try it.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to your next substack article in addition to your usual output, take care.

You helped me to...

-learn a little (more than I knew before, re: Anglin/Pelosi - Hmmm) and

-laugh a lot ("autistic pedantry," after looking up definition of pedantry - HA!)

Heh thanks, glad you got a laugh out of my idiosyncratic comment.

I very much wanted to reply to your Takimag column "Thank You for Your Disservice," but since that can't be done over there, here I am. I'm posting this under the "Dinner Bell" column because it's somewhat similar to the Disservice one, I don't care about your crazy hot chick ("It was beauty killed the Beast"), and refuse to ever again look at your appallingly amoral exegesis about Goebbels' diary et alia ("Frau Goldberg, this is the SS, bring out your children! "No, no, not my children!" "Don't worry, we're only taking 60%." "Well, that's all right then.")

You often attack conservatives for being feckless, but it's funny-odd how all your jeering boils down to "don't do anything Democrats don't like, it loses elections." Funny-odd how that's the same position taken by Time magazine (time.com/6273247/ron-desantis-republican-party-abortion).

Don't be pro-life, it loses elections? OK, so what's a Republican non-baby-killing position that would win elections: If the kid doesn't come out as transgender by the age of two, it can be retroactively aborted? Trading innocent lives for elections (or "good stock" illegal immigrants -- that one wins the twisted logic award) is beyond despicable. Go read "The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas" and LeGuin's inspiration in William James.

Don't be MAGA, it loses elections? OK, name a name that would win a Presidential election, not just pass your purity test: Boebert? Christie? Elder? Hawley? Huckabee Sanders? Ivey? Kemp? Noem? Ramaswamy? Reeves? Romney? Scott? DeSantis maybe, but why send him to Washington to be immobilized in the swamp for a repeat of the Trump years? You think the left is going to forgive and forget what DeSantis has accomplished in Florida? If so, I have a bridge I'd like to sell you. Four years of DeSantis Derangement Syndrome and then we get someone like Eric Adams or Brandon Johnson or Katie Porter in the White House in 2028 -- sure, that really helps conservatives.

By the way, congratulations on getting Ann Coulter signed up to the "Republicans are being played" shtick. How much Rohypnol did that take? Or was it a straight tradeoff for you adopting her anti-MAGA hysteria? (Coulter is so shrill nowadays that she could give tinnitus to bats and dogs.) In either case, I assume you're helping her buy back and shred every copy of "In Trump We Trust: E Pluribus Awesome!" Are you and she working on a joint column lecturin' and hectorin' the flyovers that it would be a bad idea to boycott Bud Light because that's what the Democrats want us to do?

Lest you think I'm a mindless Trumpista, the only reason to vote for Trump in 2016 was to keep Hillary out of office. A lot of people conveniently forget that if Trump had lost, we'd now be in Hillary's second term. How can that not freeze your soul? The irony is that Trump led to Biden, but now Trump is the only way to get Dementia Joe out of office. I don't think DeSantis can do it in 2024, and he's far too valuable in Florida. If DeSantis wants to run, let him do it in 2028 so he can take on the likes of Adams and Johnson and Porter and Alvin Bragg and Gavin "Oil Slick" Newsom.

Good comment… better than my first one and I got gob-smacked by David for it. Okay that’s fair- there are a few right wing loony tunes out there, and I didn’t do enough research. But on the broader questions you have brought up, I don’t think we can vote our way out of this situation. We’re too far gone man. We need different parties. Shake em up… maybe a reorganization of the whole US of A. I don’t think Trump can win again and even if he did, who’s to say that he would do what he failed in last time? I agree that we dodged a bullet with Hillary but who knows? Now Biden’s almost got us into WWIII and he’s recently admitted we’re practically out of ammunition (was he supposed to say that? Seems like bad opsec). At least Hillary is cognizant.

Okay David - I’m going to confess. I was completely wrong about the Pelosi incident in my first comment. How did I miss the truth so completely? Because I probably listened to basic bitch Qtard MAGA thinking, like Catturd’s. I don’t particularly like Nancy Pelosi. What changed my mind after I forgot about this article? Listening to David DePape‘s confession! It’s on rumble somewhere. Dunno if he is MAGA but he’s looney tunes for sure. Grifters can make a lot of money off of loons - look at Scientology. The only problem is that you have to spend time with them and socialize. You couldn’t pay me enough to take David Miscavige’s job. But the people who covet such jobs enjoy controlling others, and that’s scary.

You called me a dumbass and I kinda deserved it. Mea culpa. I have thick skin.

On Twitter some of the crazy stuff is absorbed by osmosis.

It’s important for people to question their biases regularly. Me? I was a southern raised Democrat living in San Francisco and I NEVER voted republican, going back to 1980 in my first election: Carter, Mondale, Clinton, Pat Buchanan (Reform) in 2000 (couldn’t stomach Gore), Nader in 2004 (couldn’t stand Kerry), Obama in 08, nobody in ‘12 (no acceptable candidate). So 2016 - I thought Trump was persuasive with his humor and the idea of retaining and restoring value-added American manufacturing, not offshoring everything just to save a few bucks, hollowing out the working and middle classes. The media tried to make Trump look satanic but he was hated by the right people. He was different, many people thought.

But as you have written in Taki’s, Trump erred by not sticking to his original platform; keeping and creating good jobs in America and controlling the borders. He had Ivanka and Jared in the White House and nobody liked that! If Biden let Hunter live there MAGAs would be screaming. Trump made terrible cabinet appointments in my opinion, neoclowns like Barr and Bolton.

I think Trump is a selfish narcissist with zero loyalty. Whether he can win remains to be seen but I can’t support him. I’m older myself now and pretty tired of both parties. Perhaps a better one will be formed; we shall see. Getting tired 🥱. Good night!

You're right, the right is often autistic but you have to admit it's suspicious that the SF cops' bodycam shows Paul P with a drink in his hand, not trying to get away or hiding from the guy who supposedly broke into the Pelosi house. Just sayin.

Expand full comment

Don't be an idiot. Try - if you have the mental ability - to watch the bodycam footage without your slobbering bias. What you see is an elderly man with one hand on a hammer being held by a younger and stronger madman. Pelosi, knowing he lacks the strength, is trying to keep the hammer from being raised, hoping the cops will rush in. He's trying not to anger the madman who holds the hammer and who is stronger. We know from the 911 call that the madman was hovering over Pelosi at all times. When the cops just stood there in the doorway gawking (SF police incompetence - they didn't even know whose house it was), Pelosi tried to move away, and the madman began bashing his skull in. What's the fucking matter with you that this doesn't register? A lunatic had been telling Pelosi "no false moves." Pelosi did what he could to keep the madman calm, but the moment he made a false move, he was nearly killed. THAT'S WHY HE DIDN'T MAKE A FALSE MOVE, you dimwit. But when the cops hesitated, Pelosi tried to move away, and paid the price. He knew he couldn't control that hammer if DePape became enraged enough.

A normal, healthy human being (i.e. not you) would feel empathy for an old man trying to hold down a hammer just long enough to save his life. Armchair quarterbacks like you have obviously never been face to face with a madman. I have. They are unpredictable. You try to reason with them. You try to keep them calm. You try to save yourself by any means necessary ("Can I go to the bathroom?" "May I have a drink of water please?") to buy time. The fact that vultures like you try to play Zapruder on an old man's worst night sickens me. When I was trying to convince my ex not to slash my throat when she woke me in the middle of the night with a knife to my jugular, I'm glad there was no camera there. Dolts like you would be taking it apart ("Why'd he say THIS instead of THAT? Why'd he look to the LEFT instead of the RIGHT?").

How can someone like you be a fan of mine? You don't get a word I say.

Expand full comment

Tell me how you REALLY feel, David! How am I any more an armchair quarterback than you are? Are you going to have a drink in your hand if a maniac is holding you hostage? You're saying the cops were incompetent for not rushing in. They've dealt with these situations a few times, you know. Why didn't they sense any imminent threat? As for compassion, you are throwing the cops under the bus but Paul was caught drunk driving a few weeks previous. CAUGHT, ok? Probably not the first time he had done it. He was endangering other peoples' lives. I live in his wife's district where she runs unopposed. I know, you'll say we should organize opposition and get a viable candidate. And I'll tell you that there isn't one. If it were just progressive politics or immigration we'd have some labor organizing hispanic guy instead of an octogenarian who can barely complete a speech. You might know LA politics but I know this town.

😣 I thought "Lavender Marriages" were a relic of the past. It made me sad to see Mr. Pelosi was so sick & lonely inside that severely mentally-ill street trash looked good to him. Conspiracy nutcases lack compassion. I'm glad you see that the u.f.o./schizos aren't needed. Intelligent debate doesn't need shelf-fillers & place-holders. 😵

😏 Eric Hunt serving less than two-years? That is scarcely justice. Kidnapping doesn't lead to intelligent debates & conversations, nor does the lumping in with u.f.o./extraterrestrial crackpots. Yes, bad things happened during any war & all sides need to be examined. Not the way the extremists nutcases keep pushing for. That, also, goes for the people doing everything they can to make Jews look like the maiden in distress looking to be rescued every five-minutes. Especially when comparing Nobel Prizes wins. That wasn't because they're victims. That is applied, commendable, hard work. I wouldn't want to live without it. 😵

Of all those needing help and compassion the drunk driving sociopath Paul Pelosi must be one of the last ones I would think of. Maybe David has a soft spot for old drunks. I don’t think he deserves to get hammered but that’s as far as I can go.

😏 I think Mr. Pelosi was in a wrestling match over control of the steering-wheel with, yet, another, street trash, rough trade, male hustler when the crash occurred. Please, make no mistake, Mr. Pelosi has my sympathies, not my approval. Compassion, first. Mr. Pelosi should've stood-up for himself when same-sex marriage became legal & divorced Nancy. Instead of struggling to stay out of the TMZ spotlight, he'd be in a loving relationship with a top shelf man, improving on his life & not treading the self-destructive path he is on. 😵

Expand full comment

Really!!?? I didn’t hear about Paul being accompanied by anyone when he was caught DUI. But it makes sense. Regarding divorce, I doubt Paul is interested in a same sex marriage, whatever his sexual orientation. Cheaper to keep her, as they say. But he better be careful: two close calls within a few months of each other indicate extreme recklessness.

🥴 There was evidence of another person on the scene who fled on foot. Why it wasn't fully investigated is another problem, e.g., What if that person was injured? If I'm proved to be wrong on that, I'll concede & admit it.

Until then, I've noticed there is a callousness that has taken over the democratic party that should concern everyone. The democrats concern for self-preservation reveals a lack of leadership skills. 🥴

Expand full comment

😏 I think the recent pressure on Mr. Pelosi is a way to remove Nancy Pelosi from power & it worked. Mr. Pelosi has been cruising street trash for decades, it's only recently his lifestyle is forcibly exposed. As to "cheaper to keep her", I think Mr. Pelosi didn't want to leave that life of luxury & privilege & looking top-shelf to street trash. 🤣
