"The catalysts (or ratalysts) of L.A.’s rodent problem are nebbishy Westside Jews, who’ve been complaining to City Hall that feral cats were pooping in their yards, so the city rounded up and euthanized the ferals. Maybe Art Spegelman can do an updated version of MAUS about it: "The Jews are the mice, and the rats are the, uh, rats!"
Brilliant! Reminds me of the story that during the Black Death villagers resorted to killing cats thinking they were witches. Unfortunately this helped make things far worse as the plague was being spread by rats and killing all the cats caused the rat population to explode.
I do wish I was there to personally see Soro's reaction to Gascon getting dumped. I often don't see anyone get much justice or fairness in this world but I did this time I did. Very satisfying.
We beat Gascon 70% to 30%. This city rose up against him and Soros. They'll know, forever, that they lost in a landslide. I hope it haunts their miserable asses.
I like to think it was similar to Dan O'herlihy's reaction to being zapped by the Stonehedge juju at the end of Halloween III Season of the Witch. Pained smile, sarcastic clap and then ZAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! gone.
The question is if the hundred year old Soros has really been the one pulling the levers over the last decade with this really strange cultural "woke" shit coming out of his foundation? Or if he's just the money man sitting in some room in a wheelchair with a nurse in front of a TV playing reruns of Matlock and Murder She Wrote. Is his young son the actual one running the show behind the scenes and he as gone as 'Ole Joe? So when Soros kicks the bucket, very little might actually change as far as the damage coming out of his nihilistic "foundations" and NGOs.
Don't bring up Murder she wrote and George in the same paragraph, he isn't cool enough to watch that show. But I do wonder if he has been the ATM machine for a lot of this for a while enough old rich senile people get put in this situation all the time.
Well, Matlock and Murder She Wrote were mentioned in Better Call Saul in a rather funny bit where he tried to be an Ambulance Chaser for seniors in nursing homes. The implication is your pretty much gone when you spend your time in front of those reruns. My elderly mother and my brother have those UHF stations on with various reruns. I hadn't seen "Gilligan's Island" since I was 10 and can say it hasn't aged well, it's one of the stupidest, brain dead shows ever made and I can't fathom spending time watching that now as an adult.
How in the hell is it even possible that old man Soros has an heir?
I don't have an heir, neither does David.
This situation is so very unfair.
PS, in the form of a question to Dave.
Why did you turn me on to Behi? Actually, I know why you did, you knew I would find this video: https://youtu.be/2GuTuJbOpa8?t=24 Now I am all the more determined to visit those ladies native land.
Tashay's case, where she threw her baby out the window, illustrates why people are fed up with liberals. You take a mother who threw her own fucking baby out the window of a moving car; some liberal asshole judge lets her walk free.
If a conservative white judge kept the mother in jail, in the best interest of the child, the stupid liberals would call him a racist for whitesplaining to a black mother how to be a parent.
There's a historical precedent for lenient sentences for moms like this. In Scotland there was lenient sentencing for moms who thought their babies were changelings and killed them, it was basically in recognition of what we'd call post-partum psychosis these days. Sometimes sleep-deprivation, hormones, Scottish weather, the accents, it's a lot for people and they don't cope well, they have some kind of psychotic break.
THAT SAID, someone with those issues in this day and age can be sent to a loony bin. If anything the mom should've definitely been held with the goal of being assessed psychologically to rule post-partum psychosis out or in. Sending that woman back to that kid untreated is a scandal waiting to happen. The judge really fucked up, this is letting the legal system, the baby, and possibly the mom who must need to be medicated, down. It serves no one and fails everyone.
I've spent a good deal of the past week watching meltdown clips. Am very much loving all these loonies joining the 4B movement. I'm not sure who they think they're hurting with this; my attitude is thankfully they won't be reproducing.
I haven't seen too many rodents here in swamp land. We have been in a drought though. Yesterday morning there were numerous 911 calls about carbon monoxide detectors and smoke alarms going off thanks to the wildfires. Am hoping the wimpy overnight rain at least helped. We have a huge feral cat population around here which probably helps with rodents. We don't kill cats. We have several vets that will spay/neuter and vaccinate if you trap them. Personally, I'd rather have snakes for vermin control.
It is a victory for mankind when a liberal woman decides not to reproduce. I encourage them to do so, because it makes the USA a better place to live without their offspring.
As the United States becomes more and more a country of ‘free’ stuff, it is a strategic mistake to be against abortions.
The riff-raff culled a la Thomas Malthus is a net positive for our culture and pocket books in the medium and long run.
I’ve had a theory that the likes of George Soros are fundamentally misanthropic racists in that they want to destroy the disenfranchised by giving them all they need and want. No need to work and think. In the end mind and purpose atrophy. Witness our cities, schools and civility in general. What we’re seeing is an ‘on purpose’.
The social conservatives are anti-abortion AND anti-big government, but are silent on the tax-payer money needed to care for these bastards. (Can we even use the word ‘bastards’ anymore? No, it’s deposited in Eric Blair’s memory hole!!!)
In the immortal words of Stonewall Jackson, “Kill them. Kill them all”…
Geez, I hope the above doesn’t make me a bad person whatever that is anymore.
Growing up in a black majority city, I don't remember them being this stupid or quick to violence in the 70s or 80s; I think I've seen dysgenics in real time.
I think you’re correct. The dysgenics isn’t natural or biological. It’s learned through constantly being told that no matter how hard one tries the outcome is failure due to external pressures. It’s like a guy constantly telling his girl she’ll never amount to anything. After a while she has no hope.
We are Homo sapiens capable of determining our future, but now we’re (black and white; male and female) being told we have no volition. We need a Clinton, Obama or AOC to lead the way.
I grew up in Camden, NJ. It was idyllic for young people (ALL young people). No crime, no drugs, just constant fear of our parents (sic) yelling, making sure we did the right thing.
America is becoming a dystopic desert with scattered archipelagos of respite, but they may disappear like mythical Atlantis.
What is not commented much on in the media is these days most young black men are heavy marijuana users and it has a TERRIBLE effect on one's character. I can just smell the stuff wafting off of their clothes as they sulk around Walmart and Meijer. These dispensaries are making insanely potent stuff that is so strong you don't need a police dog to detect it anymore, the human nose can do the trick at this potency. Two "brothers" all stoned out and stinking of weed were shopping at Meijer the other day and they seemed to be so zonked out they were incapable of even talking coherently, just these low grunts between each other. Alex Berenson is right about the connection to violence, when someone uses this all the time they become dependent on the chemical to calm them down and their normal neural pathways that put brakes on behavior loose effectiveness. I worked with two young white punks who were heavy users and both were prone to extreme emotional outbursts of anger. Maybe they were naturally volatile, but that is more reason not to make it worse with a psychoactive substance. But that old liberal line I heard them saying back in the 90s how "white youth use drugs at an even higher rate than black youth..." Well, based on personal observation it's rubbish. Pot is virtually ubiquitous among black youth.
Hopefully you agree with me that what you described in your wonderful post is the product of nurture and not nature.
Growing up we heard about the good role models, but as the saying goes, ‘if you say A, you must say B’, i.e., there are also bad role models, who are normal to the human condition. Good role models are anomalies and unnatural, and as such, must be passed to subsequent generations. In other words, it’s easy and natural to be a jerk.
I sort of remember the hippies. Really stupid, foul smelling ‘white’ people. People of color, as they’re called today, made fun of them. That’s not to say these people didn’t get high, but it was generally in the entertainment world. Now, as you say, it’s ubiquitous.
Drugs, potent or not, are not the problem. They’re the symptom of incontinence and the failure to pass along the good things in life which people like C.S. Lewis and MLK spoke about. It’s a wonder the Left still admire the latter.
I lived in Palmyra from 2003 to 2019. The scariest thing you could do was enter Camden. I worked with a very sweet young Hispanic girl during this time, and she invited me to her son's birthday party. She lived in Camden. Told me that there was no parking on her street and that I would have to park a few blocks away. But no worries, her brothers were gang bangers and would safely escort me to and from. She said this like it was normal which struck me as very sad. I bought the kid a really nice gift and declined the invite.
Loved that part of Jersey. Lived in Mt. Laurel on Hartford Rd for a time. Great diners on 130 & 73. The Sub Shop in Maple Shade was primo as was the Jughandle Inn; Ott’s Bar in Delran.
Centrally located to chilly Philly, New York and the Jersey shore.
Was able to ride the subway from Jersey to Philly unaccosted. Partied in south Philly when it was mostly Italian neighborhoods. Great local restaurants not to mention Pat’s and Gino’s.
Ah well, we’ll always have the flea markets of Merchantville and Berlin…
It's more than just having a father, I work with a middle age, affable black guy who seems fairly reasonable. (but pretty dumb) He's married but some of his kids are out of control, he has to watch them get on the bus or they skip school, one got suspended, etc. He works, his wife is a CDL truck driver so gone a lot and the kids simply pick up the values of the youth in the broader black community that are quite rotten and anti social. I really don't know how to fix it? As an aside, his latest obsession that has gotten a bunch of guys of all races in my workplace hooked are these LEGAL sports betting apps on their phones that allow them to sit there and drain their bank accounts to the predatory gaming industry without even having to get up off their couch!!! I've know some Asians over the years with really bad casino gaming problems and can't believe this stuff is allowed to come right into your home through a smartphone. At least restrict it to a physical casino.
Your coworker works? His wife has a CDL? Puts his kids on the bus? Sounds like people I’d like to know.
‘Pretty dumb’ is in the eye of the beholder. There was a great scene in the movie One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest in which McMurphy (Jack Nicolson) says he can lift a very heavy sink bolted to the floor. He tries and tries. Grunts and grunts but is unsuccessful. He’s taunted for his failure and replies, ‘Well as least I tried goddamn it. At least I tried.’
The easy route is to say ‘fuck this shit’ and leave. The route your coworker takes is difficult. The former is dumb; the latter is smart because in the end his children are taught what a real man is.
It’s interesting that you talk about the black’ community. I’ve been to England and Ireland and those ‘white’ communities are cesspools, right out of a Charles Dickens novel.
It’s not our job to ‘fix’ the foibles of humanity or tell them what to do with their own money.
As other alternatives to abortion develop, there is a selection process for those who still rely on abortion. Back in the 1990s, my mother was convinced that as birth control pills developed, abortion would vanish. Women would simply pop a pill the day after an encounter, and there would be no need for surgery.
With the types of pills that exist today, I can agree that no honest, intelligent woman should ever need an abortion surgery. She should be able to plan her life so that, even if she makes an occasional mistake by hopping in with a man who wasn't a good choice, a swift pill the nest day fixes everything. Rare medical cases may occur where she gets to 5 months and is informed that she has some condition which makes it dangerous to go on. But that is unusual.
In the present context the only way she could get to 5 months and then realize that she needs an abortion is if she is either stupid or dishonest. She may have been running back and forth between different men, doing things behind their backs and hoping to persuade one of them that he should marry her. Or she may really not understand why the menstruation stopped. Either way she lands herself in a situation where there's 4 months left before the big day and now, she thinks that she should get an abortion.
I say, let her have it. But the anti-choice crew seems convinced that by forcing her to go ahead that she will be made to learn a lesson about life. In some rare cases, that may even be true. But not often enough to be worth it.
The whole thing the GOP bigwigs in the 2000s living in an Evangelical Bubble in the Sunbelt didn't understand is that today virtually all women have to work a job to survive. Under the claptrap they have been fed in the school systems since the 70s about "all women should have careers as brain surgeons and rocket scientists" the economy has transitioned to requiring all to work to survive, and it's usually wiping off the coffee machine at the truck stop, or watching the self serve registers at Walmart, not nuclear physics like on TV commercials. An unplanned pregnancy is an economic disaster along with a personal embarrassment for most of these working women. An existential threat that whether they ever use it or not, just having legal abortion relieves a certain angst the way having an ejection seat makes flying an experimental jet more palatable.
It matters not a wit to me of Jane or John Doe’s fictitious, Rube Goldberg mental gymnastics. Whether a pregnancy, college loan, mortgage, or making ashtrays out of clay, be responsible for your choices.
Mistakes are an important, vital part of living, but only if one learns from them and pays for them. Leave the rest of hardworking humanity be.
I saw Bikini Kill about 30 years ago, and they did this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTb4s3agIoQ Kathleen Hanna was shrieking "we don't need you! Does that scare you?" and I'm thinking "no I'm cool with that, in fact I prefer you to stay away". Needless to say, 4B feels like a rerun.
My girl at the time convinced me to to go see them in Melbourne last year. "Hit the wall" is an understatement re Kathleen Hanna. And she was spouting the same nonsensical crap. Basically rocky Dennis x rocky Balboa
A friend sent me this in 2017, quite prescient methinks?
See, Trump is a twisted fuck. Sick in his heart, in his mind, in his soul, but he is a winner. You are no doubt laughing now, bc I used that term, but winners win, and some of the time there’s no explaining how, they’re called “gamers”, they look bad in practice, they look bad in pre-game, they may be injured, limping, lethargic, hung-over, puking in a bucket, but then the game starts and they’re just on it, and they attend to the outcome, to the exclusion of all else, and win. THEN, they have their party, maybe by drinking alone, cheap whiskey, from the bottle, in the dark, sharpening their blade (Roman axiom: “after a victory, sharpen your sword”), that’s a common M.O. for gamers. Losers over-plan their parties ahead of time, to the point that the outcome of the contest is left unattended…. Trump sickens and reviles me at times, but he is not the guy WITH the scar, he’s the guy that HANDS OUT the scars (allusion to the ORIGINAL Magnificent 7, not the cheap imitation that came out recently)….Trump is not a Republican, he is pure backlash. He beat THREE parties: Dems, Repubs, AND the Media. He is like a weird alien mutant straight out of a Sci-Fi flick. You hit him with nukes, he gets stronger. You hit him with lasers, he feeds off of the energy and grows stronger. You shoe him in the nuts, he gets an inch taller.
Sorry this is a little off topic - I don't have a verified X account, but does anyone want to "Community Note" the great Libertarian, Elon Musk, regards Dave's ban for being a "denier"?
I don't often throw out a hallelujah but it was deserved on Tuesday night when so many scumbags, like Gascon, got tossed out of office. Good riddance!

Or Mao having all the sparrows killed off, who were eating the bugs that ate the crops.
How can anyone doubt that God loves pussycats?
You keep this up about Soros, Dave, and you’re going to be off the guest list for junior’s wedding to Huma Abiden.
Shouldn't Tony Weiner be on the guest list?
As a matter of courtesy, if nothing else. (smirk)
Gascon was properly taken to the woodshed, and I am loving it!
"Considering Thiel’s sexual preference, “hole up” might not be the best term to use in this instance."
Sam Altman, er, has the same penchant. They'll be fine.
When did tech bros become La Cage aux Folles?
Maybe the influence of the 1970s, that whole "excessive masculinity caused the V'nam War, so we've got to get all men dominated by their female side"?
Son of Soros, there are no words in the English language that are adequate to describe him.
How in the hell is it even possible that old man Soros has an heir?
I don't have an heir, neither does David.

Bring me the head of Ernesto Garnier
Hey Dave, have you seen this: “Some Black Women Are Choosing Rest Over Politics” https://www.nytimes.com/2024/11/19/well/black-women-harris-trump-election-rest.html
It’s all about how black women are so shocked by Harris’s loss that they’ve decided to eat healthy and start taking up more hobbies.
I forgot that I wasn’t reading The Week That Perished and kept waiting for the cold fries joke.
I had NOT seen that, my friend. Thank you - I have a feeling you'll be seeing it again in The Week very soon!

I'd rather be the dead Beastie Boy than the one who married her.
Agreed. As long as they’re snakes of color.
That's the only kind I ever see around here.
How come the Rothschilds can get away with drinking baby blood, but I can’t? It’s no fair!
It takes money to be able to do shit like that, mi amigo!
Man, it’s crickets out here tonight.
Pick up a knife, put on a keffiyeh, go to the Levant, and make it even-leaven.
I bet the Rothschilds don’t have to travel to do it
As a Prussian military historian, do you recommend The Romanovs 1613–1918 by Simon Sebag Montefiore?
Sure

Sorry this is a little off topic - I don't have a verified X account, but does anyone want to "Community Note" the great Libertarian, Elon Musk, regards Dave's ban for being a "denier"?
