Dave, I regret to inform you that Gascon will not burn in Hell as even Satan has standards. However he will be forced to spend eternity in Bridgeport, CT which I can assure you is far FAR worse.

Serious Q what is unpleasant about Bridgeport ?

CT in general is just boring with no personality. Parts of it are have an enforced-quaint vibe. But nothing in CT is allowed to be as interesting as Boston or NYC because that could cause property values to go down.

In Bridgeport, there are no interesting tall buildings people have heard of. No good museums you've heard of. It's just kind of...there. It has some city problems/is more violent than Greenwich, but not ones interesting enough anyone outside the county will hear about them. Hartford's an insurance town and everyone is in bed by 9PM. New Haven is dominated by poor Black & brown people who are eyed suspiciously by Yale students and old New England types. It has kind of a blecch vibe as a place; it's all the worst people in the world whether that's a sassy Puerto Rican teen mom spending money on tats instead of a college fund for her baby, or an Ivy League "genius" with no practical or conversational skills.

There are no CT sports teams, no really good concerts or events come through a place like Bridgeport (you'd just go to NYC), CT is a young person or hip person's nightmare. Even though New England in general is pretty HOA free, CT is the most spiritually aligned state in the region with HOA type people. CT is the Utah of the Northeast but without all the nice mountains and monuments.

thanks. there was x discussion while back someone asked "are there any US cities dense, walkable, affordable, n safe?" I thought not, but some people suggested Bridgeport or Providence as kind of bargain Boston (or survive-able Baltimore)

Portland was like this in the nineties when I lived there. You can see it in the B movie "The Favor" shelved by the studio for several years until after Brad Pitt became a star and they realized he had a supporting role playing a weakling type he'd never play now after he got some clout. Everything is hunky dorry and nice in that flick and it really was pretty decent in the nineties. But you can see the cultural rot in the selfish, irresponsible behavior of the parent characters. Thirty years later their kids are now the bastard, drugged up leftist orcs inhabiting that former nice place.

Yes. This is true.

We moved from LA to Portland, OR in '87 and have been there ever since: I saw most of the cycle. It has been in a decline since about 2010.

Too many blacks. In the end, that's the sad truth. Chicago, Philly, too many blacks to defeat Soros. L.A.'s down to 7% black. That no longer influences elections.

Also, keep in mind that the county is 25% non-Hispanic white. That's 2,500,000 whites...more whites than the entire population of Nebraska.

It is, if you count Mexis who self-ID as white and if you count Persians and Indians as white. Statewide, we're at 5% black. City-wide, 7%. I'm cool with that.

Genius move to replace the blacks by getting them to move voluntarily!

Do they hate our Mexican brothers that much?

They are scared of them in a subtle way. The Mexicans are completely impervious to any guilt trips, and cannot be manipulated easily.

The latest I've read is that Oakland's recall effort (of D.A. Pamela Price) is winning. Although to your point, I realize much of Alameda County's demographics don't mirror Oakland's.

That's great you have a place you call home--- as a native Masshole, what's my patrimony? Placing library holds on Ralph Waldo Emerson audiobooks?

God you literate Mass residents are not the problem, though. I have a sibling like you who goes to Walden Pond and walks around there. You're boring and you can't drive, but overall that's fine.

The problem is the Massholes who couldn't cope after your sports teams started to win again. It's not even their success, but for some reason it went to their heads and they feel an unearned connection to it. The first Red Sox championship: fine. Happy for you. Once the Patriots were on a roll all of your vowel-honked-through-the-nose, drunk-ass, working-class fools priced out of Boston became even more embarrassing than before. The ones who don't know who Emerson is or view him as a cultural inheritance. "Aww nawww I heard Tawm Brady's never eaten a strawberry that's why I put Alphonse on a no-fruit diet. He's gonna be qwwwwwaaaaatehback someday!" That's their idea of culcha.

Massholes used to have the decency to be slightly ashamed of rooting for the Patriots. They knew that Larry Bird's bad back, Len Bias' overdose, Bobby Orr ending his career in Chicago, and Reggie Lewis dying randomly was punishment for their sins somehow. That was tolerable. But now? They didn't even shut up once the gravy train rolled out of town; they're all still fapping to Tom Brady's career stats and they waste all their disposable income on his supplement line (instead of on scratch tickets and booze from over the line in NH as God intended). It's not right. Even the effing Bruins won a championship. When I was a kid, the Bruins could be relied on to do things like trade Joe Thornton to San Jose for a bag of pucks. That's how committed to failure they were. We need more of that.

You Massholes need a good long drought again. Once you're depressed enough to turn the game off and read you're fine, that's no problem.

The question is, if you developed this line of thinking into a book, would I be fapping to it? (The answer is yes.) Wasn't the political slogan this year in New Hampshire great: "Don't Mass up New Hampshire" ?

I can't tell if they didn't want to vote for a woman - many of those same voters did in 2016 - or if they blame Biden for inflation. I don't think they "rejected feminism" because Florida passed some left of DeSantis abortion thing, Colorado is removing anti gay marriage legislation and I think enshrined abortion in the state constitution. So people are still broadly supporting what are seen as traditionally feminist/women's rights type issues, even at times in states that went for Trump like FL.

Kamala's candidacy wasn't built on feminism the same way Hillary's was. Hillary, we were told, was the most qualified candidate ever and we were evil troglodytes if we didn't vote for her. There were ladies at my church like, "I've got my pantsuit on! I'm getting the vote out for Hillary! Wooo! Ladies in pants! Go suffragettes!" Hillary was wearing, what, "Suffragette White" on election night or to some debate? 2016 was the feminist branded election.

Kamala's candidacy was, "We're not going back." That's it. Something something Joy, but mostly "Look at me! I'm not Trump! WOO!" Her problem was the 11% inflation year and being afraid to have a personality.

Apparently a lot of black men stayed home and didn't vote for anyone, which naturally effected the Democrat vote.

"...being afraid to have a personality"

Yes, you are onto something here.

I somehow have felt a sense of disquiet every time I watched her. I could not put my finger on what it was, exactly. Two days ago I dialed in that it was a detectable level of anxiety that had been shoved into the back and papered over.

What it may have been was that she was smart enough to realize that she was often in situations where she was in, deeply, over her head, as I suspect some DEI hires who are self-aware enough may also feel.

But enough. It's over.

One addendum.

Her personality is that of the Grinch. They’re doppelgängers, which makes her disquieting.

Every time I counter the Menendez simps with that line, I get back, "she molested them too and allowed Jose to molest them".

Of course I counter back with the fact that there is zero evidence of this claim, and then they stop responding or call me a pedo sympathiser!

Besides, they still have a way to go before they get the opportunity to be set free from what I've been reading.

As for the Presidential election, I think the Democrats just got greedy. They wanted to repudiate Trump, and they could have won with that. However, they tried to stretch out their single into a double and got caught. They wanted to install a permanently woke socialist and DEI society, so that gave many people a reason to vote against Kamala, even if they disliked Trump.

As we used to say to our pledges, so now to the Democrats, "You fucked up!"
